welcome

S&B Bell Farms in Hodgenville, KY started out with a purely functional purpose: to make good use of land that we own. Over the months, the concept of alpaca farming has branched out to several other areas of farming. In order to run a sustaining farm, we realized that we needed to consider the interconnectedness of the land and the animals, and to provide the best environment that we can for both.

You know you’re a fiber producer when you bring your own fiber to the Kentucky Sheep and Fiber festival!!!

We had a very special rendezvous this morning with Reclaimed Ranch for our alpaca fiber drop 🦙. Can’t wait to see the finished yarn from our Aspen, Cypress, and Rowan!!

How heavy are the bags of white gold?

We were playing soccer there yesterday and today!

Brian is looking more like his dad!

They each have huge domains of their own… yet Mama Eve (left) and Willow (right) still manage to find a fence line to argue through 🤣

The matriarchs of each of our goat herds have never seen eye to eye. They’ve always lived next door to each other, but have never figured out how to get along!!!

Update from Saturday's swarm:

It looks like they are settling in quite well, and enjoying their new home!!

You're diversifying beyond mammals! What are the yellow spots in front of the concrete? At first I thought they might be bees, but they're too light and blurry. Are they part of a foreground plant?

So neat!!

When it’s super sloppy and gross and muddy at the farm… we still have “indoor” activities to keep us busy!!!

Tonight, we skirted almost 30 lbs of alpaca fleece from our handsome boys Aspen, Cypress, and Rowan 🦙

The good news is we will be doing a fiber drop to our mill this weekend, and we will have white alpaca yarn available again later this summer!
